The center aims to promote the physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potentials of young people as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their community by the provision of facilities for youth work and outdoor activities involving mental social and physical skills requiring exertion as well as outdoor educational activities providing opportunities to learn about and experience the Yorkshire Dales
National Park and its special qualities. The Centre also provides facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure time occupation of individuals who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disability, financial hardship, or social circumstances with the object of improving their conditions of life. This builds on and continues the work which was started at Redmire by the Scouts in 1988.

The grounds are used exclusively by guests and offering facilities for youth work and outdoor activities involving mental social and physical skills requiring exertion as well as outdoor educational activities providing opportunities to learn about and experience the Yorkshire Dales National Park and its special qualities.

Bunks

Station House has four bunk rooms with a total of 20 modern adult bunks. These are flexible and configured as a two bed room with 1 bunk. A four bed room with two bunks and two seven bed dorms with three bunks and a single in each.

Camping

Station House has two designated camping areas to the west of the property that can handle a number of tents. There are no set rules on where you can and can't put tents, just common sense, i.e.dont put tents near the campfire circle.

Areas

Station House has three activity rooms - The lounge is the comfy room, it has an open fire and a number of sofas.
The dining room has fold out tables and benches. It can be used for activities or eating.
The games room has a tiled floor and a number of games tables, like pool and table tennis.

Facilities

Station House is equipped to support groups and outdoor activities. On the eastern flank is an ablutions area with a shoe store along with two shower rooms, three toilets and washing facilities. This joins the kitchen with a range of work surfaces, and cooking facilities and joins a utility room with numerous fridges, microwaves and general storage areas.
